AVATAR: Na'vi - Sylwanin v.3 by Lilyas AVATAR: Na'vi - Sylwanin v.3 by Lilyas
2. UPDATE: I got a lot of useful feedback on this piece that helped me to enhance it even more. Thanks very much! But nobody spotted the mistake on her eyes!

  • Removed her eyebrows because real Na'vi don't have them!
  • Gave her a plastic surgery and corrected her nose. :D
  • Removed the blue tint on her teeth.
  • Defined her cheekbones a little more.

See second version HERE.

UPDATE: Remodeled the anatomy of the face and fixed some minor mistakes. See first version HERE.

The first deviation of the year is dedicated to the fantastic world of Pandora!

Yes, I've watched AVATAR, too. Twice. I must tell you there is hardly another film that impressed me that much in the last decade. I really love the film, the story, the incredible realistic pictures of the Pandora scenery and its residents, the beautiful Na'vi race. The biota is beyond words! The extraordinary trees, the plants, the floating Hallelujah Mountains, the flying dragons - the banshees and Toruk, the Last Shadow - all this takes computer animated movies to a whole new level. I will be inspired for the next years by this film!

Just in case you haven't seen the movie yet - go and watch it!!!

Now it's the first time that I have done some kind of fan art. I realized that many fans of :bulletblue: AVATAR are around, there is even a fan group on DA. But I didn't want to post another drawing of Neytiri or Jake Sully or my own face turned into an avatar. I followed my own project with my version of a Na'vi.

:bulletblue: Sylwanin A'itey is the sister of Neytiri, and she first appeared on James Cameron's Avatar: iPod/iPhone Game. Due to an absence in the film, her current status is unknown, but she is assumed to reside as a princess of the :bulletblue: Omaticaya Clan. I don't know how Sylwanin really looks since I haven't played the game but here is my fantastic version of her!

The manipulation is another extended work going very much into the details. I've spend two days of work on it. So if you like it or don't feel free to comment and leave a critique. I'd appreciate that very much! Thank you!

Avatar has been an increasingly popular movie, and I was just waiting for the awesome fan pictures to come. Awesome doesn't /begin/ to cover Lily's rendition of a Na'Vi native.

The first thing I noticed is the eyes. They're enlarged perfectly and the colour is fantastic. One thing Lily did fantastic on was remembering those Zebra like stripes! They're very subtle in the movie, and I've seen some fan pics where they don't have them. However, I would say that I'd like see them not so strong in this picture, because they aren't that noticeable (to my eye) in the movie.

The hair is great on the right side, but I do think the hair on the left side could be made to look a little bit more realistic. The sparkles are fantastic -- one of the most beautiful features on the Na'Vi -- and the nose is nicely done. The background is beyond amazing. The tones are very well done and it really does reflect the foliage of Pandora. My only other critique to edit the teeth. The Na'Vi have pointed cuspids and it would be nice for that to be reflect if at all possible. If not, maybe down-sizing the teeth a little bit. They look a tad bit to human.

Over all, it's a fabulous depiction of a Na'Vi native and most certainly deserves every fav.

this is a very nice remake. but it dosent look anthing like sylwanin, but still good. ive been comparing the sylwanin to neytiri. neytiri has a hour glass nose, while sylwanin has a more slanted nose, also has a slightly more rigid facail structure, while neytiri's face is slightly more rounded. lastly, neytiri's nose is a tiny bit more wider, while sylwanin is more boney. a great picture though.

To be honest I have never seen a picture of Sylwanin. Thanks for the comment.

Someone's probably pointed this out by now...but in the extended movie, we find out all about Sylwanin's status.

Beautiful work!

It was a long time ago since I first saw this piece of art, but for reasons I can't imagine I don't think I have left a comment. Re-reading the description, I found an additional reason to comment other than to tell you how beauitful and realistic your description of Sylwanin is. I noticed how you mentioned this movie would inspire you for a few years. Having just bought and watched the recently released extended edition, I feel I must share Sylwanin's current whereabouts are revealed within the additional scenes in this edition -- I think watching this version would provide further inspiration for you to continue producing such beautiful pieces of art!
