HAPPY 10th BIRTHDAY, DEVIANTART!!!

Happy Birthday ID by OmarAziz

10 years ago at August 7, 2000 a little art community called DeviantART was launched. You could Become a Deviant and share your art. The most uploaded works were application skins, wallpapers and Interfaces. The site was run by jark and spyed.

:bulletblue: Some deviants and admins of the first days:

matteo, TheRyanFord iMike lyonhaert dangeruss precurser spot, tech13 firefly6 xanthic pyros seven armageddon pilaf indyrod vert techspider tomsommer

:bulletblue: The first Daily Deviations ever:

#1: The very first DD was given to tech13 (Michael Bodine II) on August 14, 2000. The deviation had the ID 146 but the title is not detectable anymore because tech13's gallery was completely removed. It's possible that the picture title was "Animated Noise".

See the picture here

#2: The second DD was given to dangeruss (Russ Schwenkler) on August 15, 2000. This Winamp Skin got known as the first DD ever because it's the first one now listed in the Daily Deviation history.

#3: The third DD was given to TheRyanFord (Ryan Ford) on August 16, 2000. Due to unknown circumstances the DD feature got lost.

#4: The fourth DD was given to legend - precurser on August 17, 2000. Due to unknown circumstances the DD feature got lost.

#5: The fifth DD was given to lyonhaert (Joel B Fant) on August 18, 2000. The deviation is not on Deviantart anymore.

#6: The sixth DD was given to indyrod (Rod) on August 19, 2000. Due to unknown circumstances the DD feature got lost.

#7: The seventh DD was given to endorphine (Paul Friedl) on August 20, 2000. The DD is now listed as the second DD in the Daily Deviation history.

#8: The sixth DD was given to pyros (Christian Heinrich) on August 22, 2000. The deviation is not on Deviantart anymore.

#9: The seventh DD was given to digitalpleasure (Daryl Prondoso) on August 23, 2000. The DD is now listed as the third DD in the Daily Deviation history.

#11: The 11th DD was given to endorphine (Paul Friedl) on August 26, 2000. The DD is now listed as the fifth DD in the Daily Deviation history.

#12: The 12th DD was originally given to firefly6's firefly on August 28, 2000. Due to unknown reasons after two years the feature switched from the original deviation to another. The DD is now attached to geOSilence by stuman. The reason for the mix-up could be the similar IDs of both deviations.

#13: The 13th DD was given to sirkel (Indrek Sirkel) on August 29, 2000. The deviant deleted his complete gallery so it's not on DA anymore.

#14: The 14th DD was given to vinkka (Seire) on August 30, 2000. Due to unknown circumstances the DD feature got lost.

#15: The 15th DD was given to eric (Claire Hinson) on August 31, 2000. eric's gallery itself is empty but the work is displayed in the art group seire. Due to unknown circumstances the DD feature got lost.

The Deviousness Award is an accolade which is traditionally handed out on the 1st of every month to one selected deviant for special achievements in and for the community. In the beginning Deviousness didn't come with a date or possibly the date was lost because the early awards all show the date December 1999, a time when DeviantART wasn't launched yet.

It's hard to realize this site was created 3 years before i was born in June 2003.. plus it was founded the same month the Concorde crash that stopped it's service in Air France and British Airways, now this site is 21 years old.. in the words of Roland Orzabal in Head Over Heels "Funny how time flies".
